Meet Alice our new Youth Engagement Worker
Meet Alice our (not so) new Youth Engagement Worker:

For the last three years I’ve worked as a volunteer manager for the National Trust at several local properties including Dunham Massey. Highlights have been creating a number of opportunities for young people in the local community to get involved with, including two Youth Ranger groups. These groups enable young people to learn new practical skills, work in a team and have fun in outdoor green spaces.
I am a creative person and did Art & Design at college and university, I have done a fair bit of face-painting and have run my own craft business. Over the last few years I have taken part in voluntary community art projects with local schools and lead craft session at fairs.
This September I’ll be starting a masters in Social Work and I’ll be focusing my time on studying and my new post as Project Worker for Pure Insight. I’ve ran a few Cafes now and I’m excited about evolving Café Zest, getting to know the young people and setting up new projects for others to join.
When I’m not working I’ll be with my two lovely dogs, I love being outdoors and enjoy going camping and bringing the dogs along too. Recently I joined Barnardo’s as an Independent Visitor and I am looking forward to being matched to a young person any day!
I really enjoy yoga and go twice a week it helps me focus on the present task and each week I can seeing my own improvements. I’m also a fan of cycling and walking and walked 32 miles in 9 hours for charity back in 2012 so it would be great to see if there are some young people who might be interested in taking part in fundraising activities in the future.
I’m always open to new ideas and would love to hear from you if you have any thoughts or ideas about Café Zest or the new Sunday lunch club.
