DO WE DO?
Since 2013 Pure Insight has developed a range of projects alongside care leavers and partner organisations, including:
Drop Ins – weekly drop in facility for young care leavers living in Stockport and Cheshire East to get together, access practical and emotional support, develop skills and have fun.
‘Have Your Say’ - a care leaver group that discusses and highlights areas they feel local services need to focus on.
Platform 28 Training team - a young care leaver-led led team which provides training and consultancy to statutory partners.
Parent to parent support – a peer support group which helps care leavers who are also young parents.
Mental Health Support - working in partnership with the local CCG and others we pilot projects to support care leavers to access support around mental health .
HAVE YOUR SAY
Pure Insight provides a platform for young people to have their voices heard.
PLATFORM 28 TRAINING
Platform 28 is a training team using personal experiences to influence service delivery.
We can design and deliver bespoke training around:
walking in the shoes of the child in care
a day in the life of a care leaver
keeping the young person at the heart of what you do
getting it right for care leavers who are also parents

This project sets out to support a vulnerable group of young people through a difficult transition period from leaving care to adult independence through a one-to-one mentoring programme over a committed 2 year period.
This programme is currently delivered over Stockport and Cheshire East with plans to scale into Trafford in 2018.
Many care leavers are also young parents and without access to a strong support network, making the transition to parenthood can be overwhelming.
Yet we know from first-hand experience that care leavers who are given the right support, at the right time, can develop the skills to become confident, competent parents.
Our Peer mentoring programme matches older care leavers in one-on-one relationships to provide guidance for looked after children from age 8 to 16.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Are you a care leaver wanting to give back? We have a peer mentoring programme and we are always looking for older care leavers who can offer support and friendship to children in care. If you want to find out more contact Sarah.
