How we help

You don’t have to do it alone

Leaving care can bring huge changes all at once. You might be managing your own home, money and bills for the first time. You might be thinking about work, education or training, struggling with your mental health, feeling lonely, becoming a parent or dealing with something that feels difficult to manage alone.

Our support is built around you. We take the time to understand what matters to you, what you’re experiencing and what you want to achieve.

Support and services

Practical support

We know that leaving care and becoming independent can bring practical challenges as well as new opportunities.

We can support you with the things that matter in everyday life, including managing money, maintaining a home, attending appointments and accessing the right services and support.

Mentoring

A mentor is a trusted adult who is there for you consistently and over the long term.

They can support you to build confidence, work towards your goals, try new things and develop skills, while giving you someone you can talk to and rely on.

Mental health and emotional wellbeing

If you're struggling with how you're feeling, you don't have to deal with it on your own.

Our wellbeing workers and counsellors provide a safe space where you can talk, be heard and access support that is shaped around you and what you need.

Support for young parents

If you're a care-experienced young parent, we can provide practical and emotional support for you and your family.

We'll work alongside you to build confidence, strengthen your support network and help you create the future you want for yourself and your children.

Education, employment and training

Whatever you want your next step to be, we can help you explore your options and work towards it.

Our employment coaches can help you identify your strengths and interests, develop skills and find opportunities in education, training and employment.

Peer support and activities

Spending time with people who understand some of your experiences can make a real difference.

Our café nights, peer support and group activities give you opportunities to meet people, build friendships, try new things and feel part of a community.

Have your say

Through Change Champions and our participation work, young people help co-design our services, interview and train staff and volunteers, influence decision makers and improve services for other care leavers. Could this be you?
